Overview Description Dimensions Bamboo Revolution 0.6mm veneer sheets are 49″ x 99″ sheets. Sheets up to 123″ are available by special order and can be finger jointed to any length desired. Custom layouts with cross cores for compound curves, cross-grain layups, and pre-cut sizes can be produced upon request. All traditional bamboo panels are laid up utilizing slats that are about 1/4″ x 3/4″. Traditional bamboo comes in two grain styles: Edge Grain (also known as Vertical), and Flat Grain (also called Horizontal). This refers to the orientation of the bamboo slat; Edge Grain slats measure about ¼” wide while Flat Grain slats measure approximately ¾”. Edge Grain offers a more modern look, and is more popular, while Flat Grain is the more common appearance and is more readily identifiable as bamboo. Each grain style comes in Natural and Caramelized. Natural, as its name implies, is the color of the plant itself. Caramelized, on the other hand, is steamed, causing the sugars in the plant to change to an amber color. Bamboo Revolution veneer is unfinished, but as an open-grain material, it takes stains and finishes extremely well. Bamboo veneer is produced by first laminating individual strips into blocks utilizing a waterproof adhesive containing no added formaldehyde (NAF). After the block is soaked for two weeks, it is then sliced into 0.6mm veneer sheets. These sheets are then backed with fabric.
